Diary 2003

The committee organises many social events throughout the year, a number of these have to be arranged well in advance as they are so well supported.-

Go-Karting -  we always seem to have 30-40 drivers, as we like to  extend the invitations out to family and friends.

Ten Pin Bowling  -   we end up with 8 lanes for 2 hours.

Sunday Walk   -  not much more than the odd 4 miles, but with a "watering hole" and lunch at the end, it all seems worth while.

Quiz nights    -    A chance for you all to "shine", but what ever happens, it’s only fun.

Bar-B-Que   -   A day, a weekend or more if the mood takes you – our Thetford party in the middle of the forest, we get  left alone to relax and cook for anything up to 40-50. Not quite back to nature, but it seems miles away from any City.

Dinner Dance -   Our annual event in November at the Thurrock Hotel makes a pleasant change to see everybody get dressed up for a good evening, with a meal and disco. 120-140 people each year (sorry no children for this one).

Xmas Disco    -   Approaching the end of another year, but still one more to go.

Dog Party    -      All your hopes and training throughout the year go right out of the window, it’s the dogs’ night to "star" in  all the games. Please don’t be put off by those people throwing titbits out to your dog. Teamwork is what you need – a bit of cheating also helps. Father Christmas drops in to give out presents for the children and all the dogs leave with their own "bag of goodies".

The Races - An evening out at Romford Greyhound Stadium, where this year 85 of us enjoyed a meal and despite our best efforts, we always seem to come away empty handed.
