Back to Our Dogs

Hi, My name is Lupino Pepsi Odd One Out, or Libby for short. I was born in Surrey on 12 Oct 1994. My mum’s name was Kenate Onyx (Pepsi) and my dad’s Jamaican Rastus (Buddy).

I first met my handler Neil when he came to see me and all my brothers and sisters a few weeks after we were born. My mum’s handler Debbie was very particular about who we went to and asked Neil lots of questions on how he would look after us. I was very glad when she said he could have one of us as I had decided I quite liked him and thought I could train him to my way of thinking, even though it meant leaving Surrey to move to Essex.

I moved to my new home on 4th December and soon settled in meeting the whole family and neighbours within a few days. Neil had already been a member of the Association for 4 years with his other dog Benn, so it was not long before I was started to train Neil in the classes. It was not easy as Benn had got him into some bad habits, but although it has taken a while (1 step forward 2 steps back) we are now in the top class on a Thursday night.

I first joined the Demo Team in the summer of 95 and in March of 96 I joined the rest of the Team at CRUFTS. We were both very nervous but enjoyed every minute. I even saw my mum’s handler Debbie, who was very proud that one of her puppies was there. The following 4 years I have worked in the team with Louise while Neil did the commentary for the display. The hi-lite of CRUFTS was in 1997 when we meet Rolf Harris, I accidentally nipped his finger when he was giving me some tit-bits, but he did not mind.

I love Thursday night classes but especially Sunday morning training, as we get to play ball with all my friends. The best part of the year is the end of July when we all go to Thetford for a Barbecue and Camping Holiday. We have long forest walks, and even entertain the locals when we go for a swim in the river.

I hope I have not bored you while I rambled on. Thank you for reading.

Love Libby.
